Noxstream is a free, content-neutral client that hosts nothing and plays only the add-ons you install. These terms set out what the app is and what using it means. This is a plain-language summary, not a final contract.
Using these terms
These terms are a plain-language agreement between you and Noxstream covering your use of the Noxstream app and website. By installing or using Noxstream, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Noxstream is free and provided as-is. These terms are written to be readable rather than exhaustive, they are not legal advice, and they will be replaced by a formal policy before any paid or hosted offering.
What Noxstream is
Noxstream is a media-center CLIENT: a player and library manager for the open add-on protocol. It hosts no content of its own, keeps no media catalog, and provides no streams. It ships with only the official Cinemeta (metadata) and OpenSubtitles add-ons.
Everything you browse, search and play comes from the add-ons YOU choose to install by manifest URL. Noxstream simply renders what those third parties return. It does not select, index, upload, host or control any of that content.
Add-ons are your choice and responsibility
Add-ons are third-party services run by people and organizations unrelated to Noxstream. Installing an add-on means choosing to send requests to, and play content from, that third party. You are responsible for the add-ons you install and for making sure your use of them is lawful where you live.
Noxstream does not endorse, vet, host or guarantee any add-on or anything it returns. Catalogs, streams, availability and legality are entirely between you and the add-on you point the app at. Please only use add-ons that have the rights to the content they serve.
Acceptable use
Noxstream is a neutral tool; how you use it is up to you, and so is the responsibility for that use. When using Noxstream, you agree not to:
- Infringe copyright or any other rights, or use the app for any unlawful purpose.
- Attack, overload, reverse-engineer for abuse, or otherwise interfere with the app, the website, the sync backend, or other users.
- Misrepresent the app, strip its notices, or pass it off as your own.
- Use the app to harm others or to access content you are not allowed to access.
Accounts and sync
You can use Noxstream fully without an account. An optional account exists only to sync your library across your own devices, end-to-end encrypted. Your password derives the encryption key on your device, so we never receive it and cannot recover your data if you lose it.
You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for activity under your account. Kids profiles and parental controls are conveniences, not guarantees: a determined user can install add-ons that surface any content.
No warranty
Noxstream is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not promise that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that any add-on, stream or feature will work or stay available.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Noxstream and the people who maintain it are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, nor for content delivered by third-party add-ons, arising from your use of the app. Because Noxstream is free, your sole remedy if you are unhappy with it is to stop using it.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the app evolves. Material changes are reflected by the "last updated" date below, and continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Questions, legal notices or abuse reports: hello@noxstream.tv. Copyright complaints are handled under our DMCA and copyright policy, and how your data is handled is described in our Privacy summary.
