DMCA & copyright

Noxstream hosts no content, so there is usually nothing on our side to take down — but rights holders deserve a clear path to reach us. Here is how reporting works and what we can act on. This is a plain-language summary, not legal advice.

Noxstream hosts no content

Noxstream is a media-center client. It hosts no files, stores no media, and runs no catalog or stream of its own. In almost every case there is nothing on Noxstream's side for a copyright notice to remove, because the content you see is delivered directly by the third-party add-ons you chose to install.

We still take copyright seriously, and we provide a clear contact for rights holders and for abuse reports, described below.

How content reaches you

When you install an add-on by manifest URL, Noxstream forwards your requests to that add-on and plays back whatever it returns. Noxstream does not index, cache, upload or host that content, and when sync is on the small amount of data we do store is end-to-end encrypted and unreadable to us.

If content infringes your rights, the host is the add-on or the server it points at, not Noxstream. A notice is most effective when sent to whoever actually hosts the file.

Reporting a copyright concern

If you believe that content reachable through Noxstream's own properties (this website, or the official Cinemeta / OpenSubtitles add-ons we ship) infringes your copyright, email hello@noxstream.tv with:

  • Your contact details and the rights you hold or represent.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work and the specific material or URL at issue.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the rights holder, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate, and your physical or electronic signature.

What we can and cannot do

We will act on valid notices that concern content we actually control: our website and the official add-ons we ship. We can remove or disable those, and we can take down any add-on link we may have published ourselves.

We cannot remove content we do not host. Noxstream has no reach into third-party add-ons or their servers, so for that content your notice must go to the add-on operator or its hosting provider. Where we can, we are glad to help point you in the right direction.

Abuse and repeat infringers

We will take reasonable steps against misuse of Noxstream's own services, including disabling accounts or access where appropriate, and our Terms prohibit using the app to infringe copyright.

Knowingly false notices waste everyone’s time and may carry legal consequences for the sender, so please report only in good faith.
